Already in Rancho Santa Margarita

Your dancer may have already trained with us

Amanda Cobb and members of our faculty already teach in Rancho Santa Margarita every week, working with the dance team and musical theater program at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

Opening our own RSM studio means that same training is available to every dancer in the community — not just one campus, and not just one hour a week.

Ballet Academy & Movement was founded by Amanda Cobb, a former professional ballerina, and every member of our faculty has danced professionally. We have been voted Best Dance School in San Clemente four times and inducted into the San Clemente Hall of Fame. Our students have gone on to The Royal Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Stuttgart Ballet, Ballet West, and Miami City Ballet.

For Competitive & High School Dancers

Ballet is what makes everything else work

If your dancer is on a competition team, a high school dance team, or in musical theater, they are getting plenty of reps. What most of them are not getting is the classical foundation that decides how far they can actually go.

Turnout, alignment, extension, control, clean lines — all of it comes from ballet, and all of it transfers to every other style. Judges see line and control before they see choreography. So do college programs and casting directors.

We are not asking anyone to leave their team. Some of our strongest dancers train with us for technique and compete somewhere else entirely. Supplemental ballet is one of the fastest ways to watch a dancer jump a level, and it is the single most common thing serious teen dancers tell us they wish they had started sooner.

What we're planning for RSM

Final offerings will be shaped by what Early Access families tell us they want.

Dance Classes Rancho Santa Margarita and the Surrounding Communities

When we open in Fall 2026, we’ll be serving dancers from Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, Trabuco Canyon, Dove Canyon, Las Flores, and Rancho Mission Viejo — communities that have never had a dedicated classical ballet academy of this caliber within an easy drive.

What makes our approach different

Every member of our faculty has danced professionally. That matters more than it might sound: technique taught by someone who has performed it at a professional level is taught differently, and it holds up as a dancer advances.

We keep class sizes small. Every dancer gets corrections by name, every week. Our curriculum is built on a classical ballet foundation and extends into jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater, and cheer — so a student can explore widely without losing technical ground.

We are also, deliberately, a kind place. Our students describe the studio as a second home, and parents consistently tell us their dancers grew in confidence before they grew in technique. That culture is the thing we are most careful to carry with us to Rancho Santa Margarita.

Programs for every age and level

Our RSM location will offer dance classes for ages 3 through adult, from first-time recreational dancers to pre-professional students preparing for company auditions and summer intensives. Dancers ready for a serious commitment can audition for our Company and competitive program, and every student takes part in our annual performances, including our Nutcracker and spring productions.

Help us build the schedule

We are actively shaping the RSM class schedule around the families who join our Early Access list. If you tell us which programs, days, and times work for you, we will build around it.

Questions

We’re targeting Fall 2026. We haven’t locked a date yet because we won’t announce one we can’t hold — build-out timelines move. Early Access families will be the first to know the moment it’s confirmed.

Our new studio is at 30372 Esperanza, Ste A, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688, in the Rancho Santa Margarita business district — minutes from Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon, and Dove Canyon. There is free parking on site.

Yes, and many do. We work with dancers who compete or perform elsewhere and come to us for classical technique. We are not asking anyone to leave their team — strong ballet training makes a dancer better at whatever else they are doing, and we will build a schedule that fits around existing commitments. Tell us your dancer’s current schedule when you join the Early Access list and we will plan around it.

No. The Early Access list is free and carries no obligation. It simply means you hear about the opening date, priority registration, and founding-family offers before the general public.

About twice a month, with real build-out progress and scheduling updates. You can unsubscribe from any email in one click.

Our faculty is made up of former professional dancers, and the RSM studio will run the same curriculum and the same culture. We’ll introduce the RSM teaching team to our Early Access list as we build it.
